Reply posted by CERDS: Dear Afroze, The course duration is six months( if taken regularly). The course completion at an average takes around 8 – 10 months time to complete. In the past we have had some students who were able to complete the course within 6 months time. However, we strongly recommend that the students devote dedicated time and effort and make an extensive study on each of the subjects they would be studying. They should try to expand their knowledge in Montessori by reading as many books and information available on the internet. The study in depth would help them understand the subject and give them a clear vision of what Montessori Method is. With sincere effort and research, if a student pursues the course, she would be capable of handling the classes on her own in the later run. This study would take at the least 6 months, hence it would not be advisable and possible for a student to complete the course within 1 month or less. It is the enriched quality in the teacher that helps to excel in the field of teaching. Thank you !

I liked this concept,currently I am living in Dubai,I read that you have placement everywhere.Do you have placement in Dubai too?Also I would like to know you all have 1 weeks training so instead of this whole course can we do that 1 week training?or if we have enrolled for montessori course & also willing to attend your 1 week training programme do we have to pay extra money or that is included in package?

However, if a student who is familiar with the Montessori Methodologies and could devote 3-4 hrs each day could complete the course in 3-4 months time. This could be done through the Fast Track Mode. Chances of getting a teaching post with only a postal course are limited. Since you would be a fresher in this field, we advise you take up voluntary work in a Montessori house, along with your studies at CERDS. You need to devote at least 3 hours, 3 days a week for about 9 months, working in a running school environment. So, by the time you complete the course, you will be thorough with the Montessori concepts , as well as practical application of the same. With an experience certificate and a diploma in hand, you are much more likely to get a teaching job.

Once you have conversed short sentences to your child in your mother tongue, you could repeat the same in English. Gradually the child would emulate you and learn the second language without much effort. You could play some English rhymes(Visuals would be more interesting for the child), so that the child learns to recite them.

If you inform us your change of address we could sent subsequent consignments to the new address each time you change location. Practical workshops are add on programs to enhance your knowledge in the montessori presentation methods and are not a compulsory requirement for certification.

All participants would receive a participation certificate. The venue has not yet been finalised. You will need to enroll by end of October to reserve your participation. There are facility for only 30 participants.

You may write from your own experiences and what you gather from reference work, but make sure you write in your own words and it is very easy for the tutors to spot copied work. Give an index of the books or sources you have used for your references.

Most Montessori schools will take you on as a trainee. We can provide you with a letter of internship with which you need to approach schools in your area. Out of 3 schools you approach, one is sure to take you on. I want to finish the course by six months as i told my husband is at singapore and presently i m a pre-school teacher, And i want to start my career at singapore as early as i can by doing ur course. Yes, there is an additional cost for attending the Workshops, though attending the workshop is not a compusary requirement to the issue of certificate. There are other options of gaining practical experience locally. You may contact the counsellor for same.

I have read that CERDS will be conducting a practical workshop in Dubai this coming March 25 to 29. Does the cost of training includes the materials? How about the accomodation.. I have lots of friends working there.
Since I have obtained my passport when i went to vietnam for educational seminar, can you assist me in getting my visa to Dubai? Im running out of time...please advice.
Are you goin to conduct practical workshops in New Delhi? When? How much? Is the materials included?

Instead, we are proposing to conduct the same towards December. Dates will be announced shortly. Dates of the Delhi Workshop also will be put up on the website in the near future.

The courseware is sent to you by email , follwed by the hard copies through post. This is done to avoid postal delays..

When you have finished teh course, you may apply for membership directly to either of these associations and we can help you do the same. Regarding using their name, you will have to check with them, as to how and where you can mention your membership. Practical training is a must for anyone planning to practice Montessori system. We recommend a training of 240 hours if possible.

Reply posted by CERDS: Chancesof getting a teaching post with only a postal course are limited. We advise you take up voluntary work in a MOntessori house, along with your studies at CERDS. You need to spend 3 hours , 3 days a week for about 9 months, working in a running school environment. So, at the end of one year, you will be thorough with the Montessori concepts , as well as practical application of the same, expericience certificate and a diploma in hand. Equipped in this maner, you are much more likely to get a teaching job.

We have number of students enrolling from Srilanka. The course material is dispatched in three lots by speedpost or international courier service at intrevals of approximately 4 months. You may register online, using a credit card or make payemnt or courier a bank draft or in any of the other ways, mentioned under 'fee' link on the home page.

Cerds conducting a Practical workshop at Dubai by March end and we are planning to conduct two more workshops at Delhi and Mumbai respectively this year. If it is possible you may come and attend the workshop. If you cannot make it we will despatch an Internship letter along with your certificate. The practical workshop is conducting at Kerala by January 7th to 11th of 2008. You can come and participate the workshop. Any body can attend this workshop those who are having teaching back ground.The fee for attending the workshop is Rs.4000/- for our exixsting students and Rs. 4500/- for the out siders.

But attending this workshop is not compulsary. After successful completion of the course we give an internship letter along with the certificate. With that you can approach a Montessori school for practice. This is the procedure what we are doing. Thank you.

We recommend that you support this course with simultaneous voluntary work in a Montessori House of Children near your place and / or attend the CERDS workshops conducted at specific places in order to get hands on experiience with the MOntessori tools. The CERDS DIploma is valid in all over the world. We have a number of students from Gulf, Australia, South America, England and USA, who get jobs in their respective countries after completeing teh course with CERDS.
